Bali
Bali's incredible beauty and fascinating culture lure tourists to its shores. The many marine sports draw people to this island that sits just a few degrees south of the equator.

Almost 3 million people live on the island that stretches 100 miles from north to south and 175 miles from west to east. Most of the residents are Balinese Hindus - a unique brand of religion that has developed through a melding of Hinduism and assorted native beliefs and customs. The Balinese people are known for their artistic talent, which can be seen in the garments and handicrafts exported.

Bali features four major beach resort areas - Sanur found on the east coast; Nusa Inda with its international-class resorts; Kuta/Legian, a former surfer hang-out that is especially popular with young tourists and Jimbaran, facing the beautiful beaches of Jimbaran Bay. Another area of interest is Ubud, a section of Bali's interior, known as an artists' colony.

Diving and Snorkeling

Bali offers a wonderful variety of marine sports to its visitors. Much of the best diving is found on the east coast including Padangbai, Tepekong Island, Tulamben and Armed, Lembongan Island and Penida Island. Menjangen Island is a favorite spot on the west coast.
